JJ Gabriel sends wordless message as Manchester United facing ‘serious’ Barcelona transfer problem

Barcelona are attempting to poach teenage wonderkid JJ Gabriel from Manchester United amid his brilliant form for the U18s at Carrington.

JJ Gabriel has become the most talked-about talent in the Manchester United Academy since, perhaps, Paul Pogba, and more recently, Kobbie Mainoo, who has been a shining light in a problematic period for United. As of late, though, his light has been dimmed by a lack of minutes.

It is easy to see why Gabriel is getting interest and attention – his form has been impossible to ignore – scoring ten goals in 10 games for the U18’s.

The mazy meanders that he embarks on with penetrative intent are almost impossible to stop.

Just ask the Liverpool defence – they were prone to shipping seven goals in a 7-0 drubbing last Saturday, three of which were scored by Gabriel.

Barcelona make Gabriel interest known

Barcelona are one of the clubs in hot pursuit of the teenage sensation. Marcus Rashford could play a role in enticing the United starlet to the Revamp Camp Nou.

Barcelona also has football’s most famous academy, La Masia, which could prove too tempting. They produce peerless talent. From Lionel Messi to Xavi and Iniesta, to the present day with Levine Yamal, Pau Cubasi and Pedri; it is an unrelenting conveyor belt of capability.

According to The Sun, Barcelona are ‘seriously’ pushing to prise him from United’s grasp, with the player’s Irish passport allowing him to sign for European sides once he turns 16.

However, those at Old Trafford are still confident that the young talent will remain at United for a while to come, with his personal involvement in conversations appreciated by his family.

Gabriel sends wordless message amid rumours

Gabriel himself and his family have not shied away from social media, despite the widespread coverage of his talents, with his father regularly posting match footage and training videos of his son.

Gabriel himself has regularly used social media to celebrate his fantastic displays this season, and may have issued his latest message amid the Barcelona rumours that broke on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, the teen star took to social media to post a photo of himself in a United kit from the most recent fixture, the 7-0 win over Liverpool.

Amorim is known to have held several meetings with the player and his father in the last few months and has involved him in training on multiple occasions. Although he will not be able to make his Premier League debut this season, Gabriel could still play in the FA Cup.
