Jamie Carragher slams Man Utd forward for “absolutely embarrassing” moment after full-time vs Crystal Palace
Jamie Carragher slammed one “absolutely embarrassing” Manchester United player after the club’s 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The Reds were pathetic during their trip to Selhurst Park, and it appears that Erik ten Hag is on borrowed time with one win in his last eight games.
Forget the Champions League or Europa League; the Europa Conference League could slip away from United, who have Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton as their last three opponents this season.
One moment that personified the performance of United against Palace came shortly before the third goal. Antony gave the ball away and then bizarrely blamed Alejandro Garnacho, whom he was trying to pass to.
However, it was a moment after full-time that Carragher was fuming about.
What Carragher said about Antony
On Monday Night Football, the Sky Sports cameras were focusing on Antony, Mason Mount and André Onana after full-time.
The Brazilian winger appeared angry and was holding his hand over his mount and talking to Mount. The English midfielder didn’t exactly seem impressed with what his teammate was saying.
“Just get off the pitch!” said Carragher. “Talking and whispering behind your hand?! You’ve been awful!
“He’s probably talking about one of the players, or somebody else, or the set-up or the managers. Just shut up and get in. Honestly, it’s embarrassing.”
Fans agree
United supporters seemed to agree with Carragher, with one stating: “For the first time, I agree with him.”
Another commented, “Rare Carragher w.”
