Jadon Sancho ‘makes’ Chelsea transfer decision in late Manchester United transfer twist
According to new reports, Jadon Sancho would prefer to sign for Chelsea than Juventus as Manchester United look to sell the winger this summer.
Jadon Sancho, 24, was sidelined from Manchester United for the second half of last season after a disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag, who excluded him from a match against Arsenal.
Sancho has not appeared in the Premier League for United since the end of August last year, which Ten Hag attributed to inadequate training performances. Sancho publicly disputed these claims, leading to his temporary removal from the squad and a six-month loan to Borussia Dortmund.

Following a comprehensive pre-season discussion with Ten Hag, Sancho rejoined United’s first-team training. Despite this reconciliation, he has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford.
Sancho was not included in United’s first two Premier League matches against Fulham and Brighton. Recent reports on Wednesday afternoon indicated that United and Juventus had agreed on a loan deal for Sancho with an obligation to buy.
However, subsequent reports have clarified that Juventus proposed a loan with an option to buy, and no final agreement has been reached.
A new report from The Guardian has added a fresh twist to the growing saga. According to the report, Sancho would rather sign for Chelsea over Juventus despite the Serie A side’s interest.
“Jadon Sancho is holding out for an offer from Chelsea despite Juventus persisting with their efforts to sign the winger on loan from Manchester United,” journalist Jacob Steinberg wrote.
“Chelsea, who have been stepping up their attempts to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, have been looking at an opportunistic move for Sancho. They have held talks with United over a swap deal involving Raheem Sterling, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge. United have shown little interest in Ben Chilwell despite being offered the Chelsea left-back.
“While little progress has been made with moving Sterling, it is understood that Chelsea remain in the running to take Sancho in a separate deal. The 24-year-old, who is not in Erik ten Hag’s plans at United, is thought to have indicated a preference to join Enzo Maresca’s side over Juventus.
“The situation is open and Juve have not given up on signing Sancho on a temporary basis.”
Whether Sancho signs for Chelsea or Juventus, the explicit aim of United is to get rid of the 24-year-old. He is currently well below others in the pecking order under Ten Hag, and is on on in ecvess of 300k a week.
Sancho’s sale would represent not just a large influx of cash, but also the expulsion of a large intake on the wage books.
