Bryan Mbeumo has addressed the similarities between his current coach and his former coach as he prepares for a reunion with his former side, Brentford, this weekend.
In the summer transfer window, Manchester United shot straight out of the blocks to quickly attain their top target, Matheus Cunha, ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The next signing for Ruben Amorim’s side would be Bryan Mbeumo, who was acquired off the back of a long-winded transfer saga just in time for the Reds’ tour of the United States.
Despite United’s new-look front three struggling for goals across the board so far, Mbeumo has impressed the masses with his performances and will be looking forward to a reunion this weekend with his former side.
The Red Devils take on Brentford to kick-start match-week six of the Premier League tomorrow afternoon, where Amorim will be looking to pick up back-to-back league wins for the first time in his tenure.
Mbeumo on working with Amorim
Mbeumo was asked about how he was finding working with Amorim compared to his former boss, Thomas Frank, to which he stated the similarities between the two, via Manchester Evening News.
The Cameroonian said, “Really good. I’ve found some similarities between them. He always tries to do training in a fun way, and I think this is really important – to get some fun at football – because it makes life more enjoyable.
“A new manager is a challenge for me. The training sessions are intense. He wants us to do a lot, do big efforts, and that can only help us to be ready on the pitch. I like it.
“I think it’s important to improve and get better each day I’m here, and that’s what I always do. With time, the team can be better, and we’re going to work really hard for that. We know we’re in a difficult moment, but we just need to stick together.
“They [the United players] have welcomed me straight away. They’re a big part of it. Changing city or club always needs a bit of time, but everyone helped me a lot.”
Mbeumo happy at Old Trafford
United’s new right-winger continued by mentioning how happy he is at his new club, even attributing a lot of his joy to the ‘lovely people’ at Carrington.
He said: “The teammates and staff and everyone at Carrington are lovely people, so you really want to come and work here every day. So it’s really good.”

Mbeumo is the only one of United’s new signings to have scored a goal in the league so far, and will be eager to add to his tally at the weekend after such a strong campaign last year.
The 26-year-old may be joined in the starting XI by his fellow new signing, Cunha, who is returning from injury, as the Reds look to break into the top half of the table.
