“It’s a shame…” – Man Utd pundit explains how ‘amazing’ Bryan Mbeumo will recover from latest setback

One Manchester United pundit has explained how Bryan Mbeumo will recover from his latest setback after the international break.

Manchester United spent more than £200 million on four new arrivals; Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Šeško and Senne Lammens; in Ruben Amorim’s first summer transfer window.

While Lammens has quickly won over supporters and Šeško has shown encouraging flashes, it’s Cunha and Mbeumo who have made the biggest impact so far.

Mbeumo leads the team’s scoring charts with six goals, including five in the Premier League, and Cunha has been instrumental in major victories over sides such as Liverpool and Brighton.

With just one defeat in their last seven league matches, United will aim to continue their upward momentum as the demanding winter period approaches.

United pundit explains how Mbeumo will recover from setback

While Mbeumo’s start to life at Old Trafford has been great, he has suffered a major setback while on international duty with Cameroon.

After a shock defeat to DR Congo earlier this week, Cameroon missed out on qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Mbeumo and Cameroon played at the 2022 World Cup but their absence from the competition for next year is a big blow for the United star, who looked devastated on the pitch afterwards.

Speaking on MUTV, Danny Webber explained how it is a ‘shame’ that Mbeumo will miss the tournament but believes that he will ‘come back stronger’ in the future.

“I think it’s a shame because I want to see people like Bryan playing in the World Cup, it’s so exciting, you want to see the best players there, so it’s a shame for him,” Webber said.

“But he’ll come back stronger, I’m sure he’ll want to make the next World Cup and he’s been a real shining light for us since he’s been in the building.

“He’s obviously scored his goals, but what he brings to the team is amazing.”

Mbeumo’s AFCON absence will hurt United

Even though he will not be at the World Cup, Mbeumo will be competing at the Africa Cup of Nations which starts next month.

He will be alongside Amad and Noussair Mazraoui as United players heading off for the competition and they could miss up to six or seven games.

All three of their absences will be felt by United but Mbeumo’s will certainly be the worst as he has already shown to have that killer instinct inside the box.

United fans will be hoping that he can produce some top performances before he departs to take part in that competition next month.
