Manchester United’s new CEO, Omar Berrada, will be the man to decide the fate of Erik ten Hag.

After a successful first season at Manchester United, winning the Carabao Cup, runners-up in the FA Cup and securing Champions League football, Erik ten Hag‘s second year at the helm has been underwhelming, to say the least.

A mixed bag of results, as well as very public fallouts with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, has put the Dutchman under pressure and with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS actively reviewing and changing those in positions at the club, Ten Hag’s time could be running out.

The Telegraph is reporting that the two who has the power to end the manager’s tenure is the Red Devils new CEO Omar Berrada and an incoming director of football, which hasn’t been decided yet, however, The Reds have a shortlist of candidates.

Berrada was announced in his new role at United 10 days ago, and the former Manchester City man is expected to start this summer. Although the signing was off the pitch, many have held it in high regard and liken it to the club, securing the signature of a young Ronaldo.

The report adds that INEOS see it as the utmost importance that the CEO, director of football and the manager “share a vision” and work as a “coherent whole”.

This explains Berrada’s early arrival as the club desires his input in their search for a director of football and why it is down to these two roles to decide the manager’s future.

Sir Dave Brailsford, INEOS’ director of sport, and Jean-Claude Blanc, INEOS Chief Executive, Will be on hand to offer guidance on whatever decision is made on Erik ten Hag this summer.
