INEOS have addressed huge Man United problem with Joshua Zirkzee & Leny Yoro signings
INEOS have already addressed a huge problem at Manchester United with the two signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
The Reds are set to announce their second signing of the summer when Yoro, 18, completes his medical on Thursday.
Zirkzee, 23, arrived at the club last week following the Netherlands’ exit from Euro 2024 and has since had his first interview with club media.
Both players have addressed the main two priorities of the summer – centre-back and striker – but also come in to help another big problem at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag wants his team to be dominant, but one of the largest issues he has faced is having a team that is not physically commanding.
There is a lack of height and power in the United team that has struggled to keep intensity throughout games.
You look across to Manchester City or Arsenal, and while they have technically excellent players, Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta’s teams are littered with physical players.
Whether it’s Erling Haaland and Ruben Dias or Gabriel and William Saliba, it is something that United have not had in their squad under Ten Hag and it appears to be something that INEOS are looking to fix.
While Zirkzee is a technical player who likes the ball at his feet, his six-foot-four-inch frame can be a strong weapon in United’s attack.
Meanwhile, Yoro stands at around six foot three inches tall and still has room to grow. He has already shown to be able to compete in the physically demanding Ligue 1 and will complement Lisandro Martínez.
Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte are also linked with moves to Old Trafford and both players would again help lift the physical floor of this side.
INEOS have been praised for their work with both of these transfers, but the physical side that Zirkzee and Yoro will bring could be key for Ten Hag’s side.
