How to watch Manchester United vs Barcelona: TV channel, live stream, kick-off time
Manchester United host La Liga leaders Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday after a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg.
It is no understatement to say that this game is arguably the most important game in Manchester United’s season so far as, should they win this game and therefore the tie, it is then very plausible that Ten Hag’s men could go on to lift the Europa League trophy and avenge the 2021 campaign.
Heading into the game on Thursday, many consider United to be favourites with the second leg being at Old Trafford where there will no doubt be an electric atmosphere supporting the men in red.
Additionally, coming off another dominant 3-0 victory in the Premier League last weekend against Leicester City which saw United continue their impressive form and unbeaten record in 2023. Marcus Rashford once again was on the scoresheet, scoring two equally impressive goals, as he appears to be unstoppable at the moment with Jadon Sancho also scoring having come off of the bench and putting in another impressive performance in the second half.
However, Barcelona have their own unbeaten streak and it is certainly not to be underestimated. Barça’s last defeat in any competition came at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League in October of last year.
Of course, the extended break for the World Cup may play a part in that but since that loss, Xavi’s men have put in several dominant performances both home and away as they currently sit at the top of La Liga, 8 points clear of historic rivals Real Madrid with a quarter-final in the Copa del Rey against Los Blancos also scheduled for the 2nd of March.
Much like Manchester United, Barcelona will be very aware that putting in a good performance on Thursday night and winning the tie could lead them to their first Europa League trophy.
