Manchester United host Leicester City in the Carabao Cup in their first game since Erik ten Hag was sacked as manager.

Manchester United confirmed on Monday morning that Erik ten Hag has been dismissed following a 2-1 loss to West Ham over the weekend.

The team currently stands 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League following a dreadful start to the season.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will step in as interim manager while the club searches for a permanent successor, with Ruben Amorim reportedly close to a deal to join.

Before that new permanent boss comes in, Van Nistelrooy will need top try and get the team playing with confidence and winning games.

The first opportunity for the former striker to walk out as manager comes this week against Leicester City as the Reds turn their attention back to the cup competitions.

All the details about this Carabao Cup tie can be read below.

Kick-off times & venue

This game will kick-off at 19:45 GMT on Wednesday, 30 October with United playing their first out of four consecutive home fixtures.

Old Trafford hasn’t been a fortress since Ten Hag’s first season in charge. Currently, United have three wins in six at their home ground this season.
