The latest update has been provided on Benjamin Sesko’s transfer saga with both Newcastle United and Manchester United in pursuit of the Slovenian’s signature.
Manchester United’s summer spending has been nothing short of dramatic so far, despite only acquiring two new signatures in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The £130million pair featured together for the first time under Ruben Amorim last night as United were held to a 2-2 draw with Everton in the Premier League Summer Series.
Despite already heavily bolstering their forward line, the Red Devils are still keen on the idea of bringing in a new striker to spearhead the side, and are now pursuing Benjamin Sesko.
Amorim’s side has Newcastle United for company as they try to sign the Slovenian talisman, with Sesko’s preference still not being fully known. An update from Germany has been released to provide some new information.
Meeting held for Sesko
Newcastle and the Red Devils have been equally as unsuccessful in their pursuits for a new striker this summer, and are now both waiting eagerly to find out Sesko’s preferred destination.
German newspaper Bild, via SportWitness, have brought us the latest update on the situation after a meeting was held with the player’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, on Sunday evening.
This meeting came after RB Leipzig knocked back Newcastle’s £65million plus £3million offer, instead demanding a guaranteed £69million for the 22-year-old.
The report then states: ‘The crucial question is: What does the Slovenian want? According to Bild information, he has told both clubs that he only wants to join them.’
Where will Sesko end up?
It would be the utmost surprise if Sesko were to remain in Leipzig at the end of this transfer window, with a move to the Premier League seemingly being a ‘when’ as opposed to an ‘if’.
Both Newcastle and United are said to be putting pressure on, as they are keen to avoid prolonging the situation for longer than necessary.

The fact that Alexander Isak is now back in training with the Magpies, as his potential move to Liverpool has stalled, may be advantageous to Amorim’s side in their pursuit for Sesko.
This will be because the Reds can easily guarantee playing time for the Slovenian, whereas if Isak stays put, Sesko may not be the main number nine.
