‘He’s got aura…’ Kobbie Mainoo’s Real Madrid comparison are huge compliment to Man United star
Following the FA Cup final, Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been compared to Jude Bellingham by Gary Lineker.
Making 32 appearances for United this season, 29 of which were starts, Mainoo has been a constant highlight of a mixed 23/24 campaign for the Red Devils.
At just 19 years of age, Mainoo has risen through the ranks at Old Trafford, solidifying his role as a vital member of Erik ten Hag’s squad.

That rise has not gone unnoticed, with Mainoo receiving heaps of praise from across the world of football for his fantastic performances against some of the best teams on the planet.
England manager Gareth Southgate handed Mainoo his first start back in March, and Mainoo now looks set to be part of the national team for Euro 2024.
Scoring United’s second goal in their FA Cup victory against Manchester City over the weekend, Mainoo’s performance earned the praise of former Leicester and Barcelona striker Gary Linker.
Discussing Mainoo’s monumental rise this season on the Rest is Football podcast, Lineker admitted that he believes Mainoo can reach the very top of world football, which is a huge compliment
“[The] Sky is the limit, I think. I’m impressed with his remarkable maturity and his confidence. I think he knows how good he is,” Lineker stated.
“He reminds me in that sense of Bellingham. I know that’s a big shout, but he’s two years younger. I think he’s remarkably talented, I think he will feature in the Euros, I don’t know where and when.
“Gareth [Southgate] was in the stand (at the FA Cup final) and everyone in the ground could see how good he was, how confident he was. You can see he’s got almost an aura about him, the right sort of confidence.”
