“He wants to join Man Utd…” – Insider reveals ‘unreal’ wingback is desperate for Old Trafford move after Ruben Amorim enquiry

One insider has revealed that an ‘unreal’ Premier League wingback is desperate for a move to Manchester United this summer.

Manchester United have made strengthening their attacking options a priority this summer, already securing the signing of Matheus Cunha and actively pursuing Bryan Mbeumo.

Given last season’s struggles in front of goal, it’s no surprise that Rúben Amorim has placed the forward line at the top of his agenda.

However, United are also targeting reinforcements in other key areas, particularly central midfield and the wingback positions, as they look to build a more balanced squad for the new campaign.

Despite bringing in Patrick Dorgu in January and being on the verge of signing promising 18-year-old Diego Leon, the club is still open to adding another option on the left flank.

One name that has emerged as a potential target is Pervis Estupinan, with United reportedly making enquiries about the Brighton full-back in recent weeks.

Estupinan wants to join United this summer

Following on from those enquiries, Estupinan explained in an interview that he has told Brighton that he is considering a summer transfer and now his preference for United has been revealed.

Former United chief scout Mick Brown has stated that the 27-year-old wants to move to United this summer, with his agent making contact with a number of clubs.

“Estupinan is looking to move away from Brighton,” Brown told Football Insider. “It’s a strange situation at Brighton, they’re praised a lot for their recruitment, but there are players queuing up to want to leave.

“His agent has been making his availability known to a number of clubs, and from what I hear he wants to join Man United.”

Estupinan has made over 100 appearances for Brighton since his arrival in England three years ago and has previously been described as ‘unreal’ on the left flank.

United’s stance on Estupinan deal

Even though United have enquired about Estupinan, Brown feels that it is unlikely they make a move for him this summer due to other positions being prioritised over wingback this summer.

“I think he’s a decent player, but I don’t think it’s going to be a priority for them,” the ex-United chief scout continued.

Luke Shaw has got back to full fitness and they’re hopeful he can stay fit, they bought Dorgu in January, and they’ve got Harry Amass coming through as well.

“Their priorities are at centre-forward and in midfield, so I don’t expect them to move for Estupinan.

“He’s a player they wanted previously, and I’m sure he’s still got admirers, but unfortunately for him they look to have moved on.”

Any move for a wingback seems to depend on United’s ability to get other deals over the line quickly, and that includes player exits.
