Harry Kane’s stance on a potential transfer from Bayern Munich has been revealed after Manchester United learned about his release clause.

Manchester United have managed to score just 28 goals in the Premier League so far this season after 24 matches.

Ruben Amorim’s team has struggled with finding the back of the net, a long-standing issue that dates back to Erik ten Hag’s tenure.

While Marcus Rashford’s 30-goal campaign in 2022/23 masked the problem to some extent, United’s lack of clinical finishing in attack remains a persistent concern.

It was reported earlier this week that Harry Kane has a release clause in his contract at Bayern Munich that could potentially open the door for a Premier League return.

United were desperate to sign the England captain before he moved to Germany but he would still be a major help at Old Trafford two years later.

Kane’s stance on transfer revealed

Kane has excelled at Bayern since his 2023 arrival, scoring 70 goals in his first 72 appearances for the club.

It has long been claimed that the 31-year-old would like to return to England and hunt down the goalscoring record of Alan Shearer.

Kane currently has 213 goals in the Premier League, which is 47 behind the leading goalscorer Shearer.

However, it appears that a transfer isn’t something the striker is even considering for the time being, as he awaits the first trophy of his career in the Bundesliga.

A report from MailOnline has stated that Kane is currently very happy at Bayern and has no intention to depart the club as part of the exit clause any time soon.

But it was added that, privately, the no.9 is open to returning to England one day to chase Shearer’s record. Kane’s contract at the German giants expires in the summer of 2027.

United are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and Kane would bring the experience and guarantee of goals that have been missing at Old Trafford.

Yet it still seems like an unlikely deal despite the news of a release clause and United would also be wary about spending big money on a player in their thirties.

In fact, since the arrival of INEOS at the club, United have not signed any players over the age of 26.
