Harry Amass could be set for shock loan move as European club trying to beat Championship competition

Harry Amass could be set to make a shock loan move this season as a European club are attempting to beat competition from the Championship.

Manchester United starlet Harry Amass earned his first-team debut last season but is set to head out on loan this season for regular game-time.

Amass, 18, waited patiently for that debut, which came in March this year against Leicester City and he made a further 11 appearances before the end of the campaign.

After the club signed Diego Leon this summer, it was decided that Amass would head out on loan in search of regular game-time and he was not included in Amorim’s pre-season tour squad.

The left-back is still at Carrington but has plenty of options to choose from for the first loan spell of his career, including some interesting options.

Amass could be set for shock loan move to European club

Amass reportedly has more than 15 clubs interested in signing him on loan this season, a testament to his quality and potential, and many of those are in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday have been named as one club that want to try and bring the youngster in as they look to navigate their difficult situation.

But according to MailSport, PSV Eindhoven are making an effort to beat competition in the Championship for Amass’ signature.

The Dutch club have made a pitch to Amass’ camp and their case could be bolstered by Mason Mount, who spent time on loan in the Eredivisie himself with Vitesse and is one of Amass’ close friends at Old Trafford.

In terms of the options for Amass, United are keen to put the left-back in a situation where he will be tested physically and technically on the defensive side of the game.

United’s loan activity has been promising

United’s activity in terms of loans this summer has been really promising and Jonny Evans has seemingly excelled in the first months in his new role.

The recently retired defender was appointed the club’s new Head of Loans and Pathways in June and the Reds have been getting some good business done in that department.

In previous years, it often felt like Academy talent were sent on loan last minute and those spells weren’t always successful because of the clubs they joined.

With several weeks left in the window, most of the loan business has already been completed and a lot of players seem to be at good clubs where they can develop further.

Amass will be hoping to continue that trend and find a strong loan move where he can showcase his talents across an entire campaign.
