“Give them time” – Alejandro Garnacho set for Argentina debut after Scaloni quotes

Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has explained that he plans to hand Alejandro Garnacho his international debut this month.
Alejandro Garnacho has thrown himself into the forefront of world football this season with consistently impressive displays under Erik ten Hag for Manchester United.
This has not gone unnoticed, with Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni adding Garnacho to Argentina’s preliminary 2022 World Cup squad in November.

Although Garnacho did not make the cut for the final squad that ultimately won the tournament, his form has impressed those involved in the Argentinian national team setup.
Speaking about Garnacho and if he will be given minutes in the upcoming friendlies, Scaloni clarified the role the young winger will play.
The idea is for Garnacho to play, to enjoy the minutes and to see how he does with his teammates,” he said. “The expectation is to see these guys who are coming for the first time. Give them time, minutes.
“And that they gradually join those who were already there. In principle, the idea is that (Garnacho) comes and joins the team. We will analyse if he will play from the start or have minutes.”
Argentina are set to play two friendly fixtures in June, facing Australia on 15 June, before playing Indonesia four days later on 19 June.
