Gary Neville admits he’s concerned about “big red flag” exposed by Manchester United star
Gary Neville has admitted that he is concerned about a “big red flag” that one of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United stars has exposed.
Erik ten Hag‘s position as Manchester United manager is under increasing scrutiny after a third Premier League defeat in just six games this season.
With the club sitting 12th in the league and only managing a draw at home against FC Twente in their Europa League opener, the Dutchman’s future is being questioned by many fans.

The 3-0 loss to Tottenham and 3-3 draw against FC Porto have been particularly damaging, not only due to the nature of the defeat at Old Trafford and draw away from home but also because the team, despite featuring eight of Ten Hag’s own signings, looked disorganised, lacklustre, and chaotic.
After the Twente draw, Christian Eriksen, who has starred for United in recent games, admitted that the squad felt Twente wanted the win more than the home side.
“It’s disappointing,” he said after the full-time whistle went. “We wanted more in the end, but it wasn’t good enough.
“They looked like they wanted it more than us, and that can’t be right. That was said in the dressing room.
“Personally, you score and think you’re going to be the match-winner, and then it goes the other way. We didn’t lose, but it feels like a loss.”
Following this, Gary Neville has now explained that he feels Eriksen has exposed a red flag among United’s players, and that he has become startled by such an admission.
“If Christian Eriksen, who I think is very calm, very placid, trustworthy, respected around not just Manchester United, but the game, comes out and says something like that, it is startling,” Neville said on the It’s Called Soccer podcast.
“He’s highlighting something that’s going on that he’s not liking, so it is a big, big, big, big red flag and it’s something that we have to be concerned about.”
