Gareth Southgate addresses “disrespectful” Man United manager change rumours
Gareth Southgate has addressed the “disrespectful” rumours surrounding him and the Manchester United job amid uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag.
Gareth Southgate has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job in the last week, with Erik ten Hag’s future uncertain at Old Trafford.
Although it is thought that Ten Hag continues to have the support of most within United, INEOS are said to be assessing their options ahead of a big summer with the club having an underwhelming season.

Southgate has strong connections to both INEOS and the incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth, and was asked about the links.
“I think there are two things from my point of view,” Southgate told the media on Friday evening.
“One is I’m the England manager. I’ve got one job to try and deliver a European Championship (and) before that, two important games this week (against Brazil and Belgium).
“The second thing is Manchester United have a manager. And I think it’s always completely disrespectful when there’s any speculation about a manager that’s in place. I’m president of the LMA (League Managers Association), so I don’t have any time for that sort of thing, really.”
Southgate is one of a number of players who have been linked with the job recently, with Graham Potter, Roberto De Zerbi, and Julian Nagelsmann also names mentioned.
Manchester United stress that no decision has been made.
