Facundo Pellistri has taken to the media to explain that he is “very sad” following Granada’s recent 3-2 defeat against Real Sociedad.

Facundo Pellstri is on loan at Granada from Manchester United for the remainder of the season after the winger was not offered too many first-team opportunities under Erik ten Hag during the first half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Pellistri has been on multiple loan spells since he signed for the Old Trafford club in 2020 and is expected to return to the club at the end of the current season.

Granada have had a tough time in La Liga, with the club currently sitting 19th in the table and 10 points of safety with 11 games remaining.

On Saturday, Granda twice took the lead against Real Sociedad with Pellistri bagging an assist for the opening goal, but failed to hold on to any advancetage as an 85th-minute winner from André Silva making sure the away side took all three points.

Speaking after the game (via Sport Witness), Pellistri expressed that he and his teammates are very sad with the result and that a “miracle” may be needed in order to survive the relegation threat.

“This is football. Miracles of this style have been seen, and as long as mathematics is with us, we will fight. Attitude can never be missing. We are going to continue down this path with attitude and fighting until the end. It’s difficult, but you can dream.”

Pellistri’s future at United is up in the air with there being no current clear pathway for him to the first team. INEOS will no doubt take his future into consideration when devising this summer’s transfer plans.
