Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest on Manchester United’s upcoming summer transfer window and potential sales.
Ruben Amorim identified the need for reinforcements in his Manchester United squad ahead of the January transfer window, prioritising the wingback position.
United secured the signing of Patrick Dorgu for a reported £25 million, with the young wide player making his debut at right wingback against Leicester City.
The club also strengthened their defence with the addition of left-sided centre-back Ayden Heaven, a particularly smart move following Lisandro Martínez’s ACL injury.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony have departed on loan, alongside several youth players who have also been temporarily moved elsewhere to gain first-team experience.
Looking ahead, United fans anticipate several major signings in the summer, with the club continuing its strategy of recruiting exciting young talents, as seen in recent transfer windows.

However, in order to have a successful summer transfer window, United will also need to sell more players to create extra space in Amorim’s squad.
Loaned players like Rashford, Malacia, Antony and Jadon Sancho are expected to leave on permanent deals in the summer.
There are several other players who are not viewed to be good enough long-term who could also see the exit door in the summer.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano explained: “Several players are expected to leave, including Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and more based on proposals they will receive.”
He added: “The quiet January window could prove to be good news for Manchester United in the summer, as they didn’t spend money on loan deals and didn’t proceed with any panic buys to give priority to the real changes in the upcoming months.”
Casemiro could leave United on loan before the summer
It has also been reported elsewhere that Casemiro’s prospects of a mid-season departure from Old Trafford are not over despite the closure of the English transfer window.
Casemiro is clearly not in Amorim’s plans and has started just four games since the Portuguese boss took charge.
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, Flamengo have approached United about signing the Brazilian midfielder on loan until the end of the season. It has also been reported that United are willing to contribute towards his wages.
The report suggests that a loan deal is nearing completion and could be finalised this week, pending an agreement between the clubs on the exact wage split.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian league’s transfer window remains open until February 28, allowing more time for negotiations.
