Fabrizio Romano reveals truth behind Bruno Fernandes to Al-Nassr after shock ‘bombshell move’ rumours

Fabrizio Romano has revealed the truth behind Bruno Fernandes’ situation after the Manchester United captain was once again linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League this week.

Bruno Fernandes decided to reject a mouth-watering offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal earlier this summer to stay at Manchester United instead.

The club captain has been one of United’s best players since his arrival in January 2020 and is a crucial player for Ruben Amorim heading forward.

Despite that offer being shut down, there have now been fresh rumours about another Saudi club, Al-Nassr, wanting to bring Fernandes to their club.

Some reports have claimed that the Middle East side are planning to make a shock bombshell move to secure the signing of the Portuguese playmaker.

Fabrizio Romano reveals truth behind shock Fernandes to Al-Nassr rumours

Following on from these reports emerging, the truth of the situation has been explained by Fabrizio Romano in his latest YouTube video.

While the Italian journalist admitted that there is a Portuguese connection building at Al-Nassr, being driven by Cristiano Ronaldo, he explained how there is nothing in the Fernandes rumours.

Romano also suggested that it would be very surprising to see such a deal at this time in the window as United would not have much time to try and replace their star man.

“This Portuguese identity is going strong at Al-Nassr but I can tell you that there is nothing – zero – between Al-Nassr and Bruno Fernandes.

“No offer to to Manchester United, no offer to Bruno Fernandes, no negotiations ongoing, no talks.

“Bruno already said no to Al-Hilal at the beginning of the window, he is fully involved in the project at United. Someone said there was a meeting, I’m not aware about that.

“To get rid of Bruno Fernandes with 28 days left of the window and also a few days until the start of the Premier League would be absolutely shocking.”

Unsurprising that Fernandes rumours are false

It is not surprising to hear that these rumours are not true but it is good for United fans to know the full story as soon as possible.

As Romano mentioned, it would be shocking to see United allow such a deal to happen when the Premier League season starts in less than two weeks.

This kind of deal was a possibility earlier in the window when there was plenty of time to react and use the funds before the season. The story is not the same now.

Fernandes is expected to be a key figure for Amorim this coming season as the Reds look to make major improvements across the board.
