Fabrizio Romano reveals that Man Utd and Rasmus Højlund agree on exit terms as Jadon Sancho point made

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United and Rasmus Højlund have agreed on his preferred exit terms, with a point about Jadon Sancho being made.

Rasmus Højlund’s time at Manchester United looks to be nearing its end after a difficult spell since his 2023 arrival.

The Danish forward had been expected to stay for the new season, but the surprise signing of Benjamin Šeško changed the picture completely.

Following that move, it became clear that United are ready to part ways with Højlund, even though he has expressed his determination to fight for a place in the squad.

After being left on the bench as an unused substitute in the final pre-season game, he was then omitted entirely from the matchday squad against Arsenal by Ruben Amorim, an indication that his future at Old Trafford is all but over.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, as per MUnitedFR, should he leave the club, Højlund prefers a definitive solution.

The Danish striker wants to avoid experiencing a situation similar to Jadon Sancho in case of a loan return, where he is essentially frozen out of the squad.

Romano explained that Højlund either wants to depart permanently, or if it is a loan exit, he wants there to be an obligation for the club involved.

This is a stance that United share, with various reports previously explaining that the Reds would prefer the deal to be a permanent one.

Napoli could be one to watch for Højlund

Højlund’s decision is probably a smart one, and the fact that he’s seen players like Sancho sitting around waiting for their futures to be resolved is likely a significant factor behind his choice.

But now it is about securing that type of move for him. Italian clubs are interested but there aren’t any guarantees that they provide the cash needed.

Napoli’s situation could be one to watch, however, as they are clearly desperate for a striker after the injury to ex-United forward Romelu Lukaku.

That desperation may mean that they are willing to spend a little more on Højlund, especially after their last deal involving the Old Trafford club saw Scott McTominay arrive in Naples and blow the Serie A away.
