Manchester United are looking to make signings in the January transfer window with just under a week remaining until deadline day.

The need for additions to Ruben Amorim’s squad is quite clear and Manchester United chiefs are trying to get deals over the line.

Patrick Dorgu is the preferred choice to bolster the wingback position and United are planning to make a third bid for the 20-year-old this week.

United are also eyeing a potential signing for the frontline with the potential exits of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

While strengthening the youth for the Academy is not as exciting as either of those prospects, it is something that the club are focusing on as well.

The Reds secured impressive signings for the future over the last year, such as bringing in Sekou Kone or Chido Obi Martin. Diego Leon has also agreed to join the club in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano says United are confident of Heaven signing

It was revealed last week that United are interested in Arsenal’s young centre-back Ayden Heaven, who played against the Reds on pre-season last year.

Fabrizio Romano has since provided a further update on the situation with the 18-year-old defender, claiming that there is confidence at Old Trafford that a deal will get done.

“Ayden Heaven [is] a talented 6 ft 3 centre-back born in 2006 who’s out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the current season,” Romano told GiveMeSport.

“Arsenal have offered the remarkable youngster a new deal, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Man United made an approach with United clearly seen as favourites to land Heaven at the end of the season.

He was in attendance at Old Trafford on Thursday for Europa League game against Rangers and sources say Barcelona also called to be informed on his situation. However, Man United are confident to make it happen in the next months.”

United’s youth setup continues to improve

United’s youth setup looks to be in a healthy state and those in charge are trying to ensure that it only improves.

The Reds’ under-21s are having a solid year so far in the PL2 while the under-18s have a perfect streak in the league after 11 games.

Heaven would likely be a player to join the Under-21s before looking to break into the first-team or prove himself on loan.

The England U19s international has played eight games in the PL2 so far this season for Arsenal. He has made one first-team appearance and been included on the bench five other times.
