“Two bids…” Fabrizio Romano provides BIG live-stream update on Jadon Sancho to Chelsea
Fabrizio Romano has revealed a big update on Jadon Sancho’s proposed move to Chelsea from Manchester United on deadline day.
On the final day of the transfer window, Manchester United are pushing to finalize multiple player sales to generate funds after acquiring Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.
Erik ten Hag has already secured over £60 million from offloading Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and others. More transfers are expected to be completed before the Friday deadline of 11 p.m.

Jadon Sancho stands out as the critical high-value player likely to be sold on Friday, and Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier on Friday that Chelsea had sent in an official proposal to United.
Now, in a fresh update, Romano has explained that Chelsea’s offer to United actually contained two options.
United could either accept a loan with an option to buy or a loan with an obligation to buy, although the fees in each option are different.
“I can confirm that now, to move into the details, Jadon Sancho proposal from Chelsea is actually two different bids,” Romano explained on his YouTube live-stream.
“So, Chelsea submitted a single proposal, but with two options for Manchester United, from my understanding. One proposal is a loan with a buy-option clause. So, you go on loan, spend one season at Chelsea, and then next season, end of the season, you decide whether you want to keep the player or he returns to Manchester United.
“The other bid is on loan with obligation to buy. So, basically, a permanent transfer for summer 2025. So, it’s two separate proposals made by Chelsea for Jadon Sancho. Obviously, on different terms, because if they buy the player now, loan with obligation is one fee.
“If they do a loan with a buy-option, obviously, the loan fee is higher, and the buy-option is different. So, this is the proposal from Chelsea to Manchester United, double bid in the same package for Jadon Sancho. Now, it’s on United to decide. Yes, no, bid one, bid two.
“So, it’s on Manchester United to decide what they want to do. This is the proposal for Sancho, either a loan with buy-option, or a loan with obligation. So, basically, loan or permanent. That’s the point. Let’s see what’s going to happen.”
Although the deadline is fast approaching, The Athletic has reported that the two clubs are expected to reach an agreement in the coming hours.
Sancho has already agreed to personal terms with Chelsea and is waiting to see if an agreement can be finalised during the final hours of the 2024 summer window.
