Manchester United face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend with pressure on Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou.
In the Premier League this season, Manchester United have been extremely underwhelming and currently sit 13th in the standings.
Erik ten Hag lost his job in October after a dismal start to the campaign but new head coach Ruben Amorim has also been facing difficulties.
Despite there being trouble adapting to his system, Amorim has seen a slight upturn in results recently, with United winning six of their last eight games in all competitions.
However, improvements in the league are needed and a win against Spurs could be helpful for Amorim and the squad.
The North London side are perhaps the only club in the division underperforming as much as United. They currently sit one place below United in 14th.
Pressure on Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has risen in the last week after he saw the side crash out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup within four days.
Romano delivers Postecoglou sack update ahead of United clash
Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest update on Postecoglou’s future, with there being less than seven days until the game with United.
The Italian reporter has suggested that there are currently no signs that the Australian manager will be sacked before the clash.
“At the moment, there are still no indications of changes at Spurs,” Romano explained in his GiveMeSport newsletter.
“Of course, no one is happy with the current situation, but no indication of imminent changes. Let’s see in the next few days and after the next games.”
United will probably be glad about this development since they will be avoiding the dreaded ‘new manager bounce’ that so many clubs seem to experience.
In late December, the Reds lost 2-0 against Wolves in Vitor Pereira’s second game in charge.
It wasn’t too long ago when Spurs’ 3-0 victory over United put extreme pressure on Erik ten Hag’s future at the club. The Dutchman managed to take charge of five more games before being dismissed.
Now, it feels like a reverse situation as United prepare to travel to North London this weekend.
