Fabrizio Romano has confirmed two clubs that Victor Osimhen will not be playing for next season as his future remains in the balance.
It’s no surprise that Manchester United are prioritizing a striker signing ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ruben Amorim’s squad has struggled in attack this season, with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund managing just three Premier League goals apiece.
The club is already planning for the summer and has shortlisted several forward targets.
Although recent reports suggest that Liam Delap is their top choice, Victor Osimhen is also highly regarded by those at Old Trafford and remains a potential signing once the season concludes.
Osimhen is contracted to Italian side Napoli but currently spending the season on loan at Galatasaray, where he has netted 29 goals so far.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Osimhen transfer twist
Earlier this week, the Galatasaray vice-president made a clear statement of intent to keep Osimhen at the club beyond his initial loan spell.
The Nigerian striker is enjoying his time at RAMS Park but Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the player is “fully expected” to depart the Turkish side and he also says that there is no chance of him staying at Napoli.
Instead, the Italian reporter says that the Premier League is one of the destinations being considered by the player.
“I can tell you in this case it is really not realistic [for Galatasaray to keep Osimhen],” Romano explained on his YouTube channel this week.
“The reality is that Victor Osimhen is fully expected to leave Galatasaray to return to Napoli and then leave Napoli.
“Osimhen is not staying in Napoli, Osimhen is most likely not staying in Galatasaray and he is going to assess [his future options] starting from the next weeks.
“From May, he is going to assess the potential options on the table option and they could be in several countries – Saudi is an option, Premier League is an option and let’s see what happens with Serie A.”
United learn about Osimhen price drop
Last week, Romano also revealed that Napoli are open to negotiating a reduced fee for Osimhen as they aim to secure an early transfer in the summer window.
The situation last summer, where Osimhen made a last-minute loan move to Galatasaray, is something they want to avoid. A quick solution in the summer is perfect for everyone involved.
Afterwards, it was reported that the 26-year-old striker is now available for around £55.5 million—nearly £8 million less than his release clause, showcasing Napoli’s desire for a quick sale.

This could be good news for United, who do not have the biggest transfer budget. However, they will still be wary about the striker’s potential wage demands and that is why Delap currently seems like first-choice.
