“Excellent performances” from Man Utd star gives encouragement for permanent exit this summer

One Manchester United loanee has made a brilliant case to earn a permanent move in the summer transfer window, with the move seeming to be great value for money.

Manchester United saw a complete swap in the profiles of their front line with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško, all proving to be crucial parts of Michael Carrick’s side.

The summer also saw a plethora of departures from Old Trafford as United aimed to bounce back from their previous 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season.

However, one player’s loan spell this season could trigger a permanent move as he continues to impress with a solid output of both goals and assists.

With a permanent move looking to be the best solution for both parties, these positive performances could be the key to sealing the deal.

Marcus Rashford set to stay at Barcelona

Academy product Marcus Rashford enjoyed 10 seasons in Man United’s first team since his impressive debut against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League.

However, a rocky spell under previous boss Ruben Amorim saw Rashford make an initial loan move to Aston Villa, where he impressed Spanish giants Barcelona, who brought the Englishman to La Liga on loan this season.

Reports from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo confirm that Rashford’s “excellent performances” are encouraging Barcelona to trigger his £26 million clause to keep the 28-year-old in Spain.

These reports occurred in December after impressing both domestically and in the Champions League, but the rumours have picked up over recent weeks as the Catalan giants look to secure the Spanish League title.

The newspaper reveals that securing pen to paper would be a “great market opportunity” with Rashford’s current estimated value looking to grow to potentially £52 million in the event of a successful World Cup display.

Could Rashford return?

Rashford’s final few weeks in Manchester were icy under Amorim, despite being the first goalscorer of the Amorim era against Ipswich Town.

With uncertainty over who will be next to take charge of the squad at Old Trafford, questions remain over which profiles in the squad will remain and who could be shown the door.

United’s top priority in the summer transfer window should be strengthening the midfield, with the departure of Casemiro confirmed and fellow South American Manuel Ugarte not seeming to be a great fit at the club.

Names such as Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson have emerged in conversation, but with them demanding such huge price tags, Rashford could be a cheap option to reinforce the attack and facilitate the funds for the midfield, especially if United need the depth to compete in European competitions.
