Manchester United return to action next week following the international break, with their Europa League quarter-final clash against Lyon fast approaching.
Ruben Amorim’s side will aim to continue their positive momentum after solid performances against Arsenal, Real Sociedad, and Leicester City.
However, facing Lyon in the next round of the Europa League will be a tougher challenge for Manchester United. Before the first leg of that clash, the Reds will take on Nottingham Forest and Manchester City in the Premier League.
The opening leg at the Groupama Stadium is set for Thursday, 10 April, before Paulo Fonseca’s side visit Old Trafford for the second leg on Thursday, 17 April. A spot in the Europa League semi-finals will be at stake.
Which United players can play vs Lyon in Europa League?
United updated their squad list for the Europa League once the league-phase was finished and a couple of notable changes were made.
Of course, January signings Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu and Ayden Heaven were added to the A-List, meaning they are available in the competition.
Young talent Jack Fletcher was also moved into the squad and appeared on the bench in the second-leg against Real Sociedad.
However, 17-year-old striker Chido Obi was not added to the squad and is ineligible to be included through the B-List, where Academy prospects who have been at the club for more than two years can be brought in.
United did add two players to the B-List before hosting Sociedad earlier this month, with James Scanlon and Tyler Fredricson both available for selection in Europe now.
Harry Amass is one player United included in the A-List at the start of the season as he had only joined the club at the beginning of the previous campaign. The defender made his first-team debut before the international break.
Some players will be ruled out of the Lyon clashes with injury. Lisandro Martínez is out of action for the rest of the season, while Amad is unlikely to return before the start of May.
