Leny Yoro suffered an injury in pre-season for Manchester United, and his injury return date has been revealed.

United’s third pre-season match against Arsenal over the weekend began at a fast pace, with both teams creating early opportunities.

Rasmus Højlund scored the opening goal within 20 minutes, showcasing a powerful run and finish, as Erik ten Hag’s team displayed sharpness and proactivity in possession. Mason Mount was particularly impressive.

However, the situation turned quickly as both Højlund and Leny Yoro had to leave the field due to injuries in the first half. The game concluded with a 2-1 victory for the North London club.

Reports suggest that Højlund’s issue is not too serious and that the 21-year-old could be fit in time for the start of the Premier League campaign.

However, Yoro was spotted wearing a protective boot and using crutches on Wednesday, and further reports have explained the extent of his injury.

The Sun has stated that Yoro suffered a metatarsal injury and will miss the opening three games of the season, as well as the Community Shield against Manchester City.

This means that the defender will not be available for the opening-day clash against Fulham on 16 August at Old Trafford. Ten Hag was planning to partner him with Lisandro Martínez.

Brighton away is the next clash that Yoro will miss on the 24 August. United will be hoping that a deal for Matthijs de Ligt over the line by then.

Finally, the Reds will be hosting Liverpool in their third game of the season on 1 September before a well-timed international break at the beginning of the month.

That time off will be important for Yoro to return to fitness at Carrington. Once the Premier League returns, he could then make his official debut for the club.

That will be an away trip against newly promoted Southampton on 14 September, although depending on the way United start the season, Yoro could be integrated slowly.
