Juventus and Napoli are set to battle for Jadon Sancho as a potential deal for the winger gets closer, which will give Rúben Amorim exactly what he wants.
Jadon Sancho’s spell at Manchester United has been disappointing for both player and club, and a permanent separation this summer now seems inevitable.
Many United supporters believed that the moment had arrived when Chelsea agreed to take Sancho on loan with an obligation to buy. However, the London club ultimately opted to pay a £5 million penalty fee to avoid making the deal permanent.
In recent weeks, Sancho’s representatives have been actively exploring options for a summer transfer, with Napoli emerging as one of the latest clubs to express interest in the 25-year-old winger.
Sancho was also eager to re-join Borussia Dortmund for a third time, but the German club have all but ruled out a move for the wantaway winger.
Juventus join the race for Sancho
In recent days, Juventus have emerged as suitors, as they look to battle Serie A champions Napoli for the want-away winger.
As reported by Sky Sports, Juventus have explored the conditions of a deal for the winger, as they see him as a key target.
After reportedly expressing interest in making a move for Sancho last summer, Juventus have re-ignited their interest and will formally approach United if they believe a move is realistic.
United would prefer to sell him this summer, rather than loan him out yet again, and it’s thought that their valuation of Sancho sits at around £25 million, a far cry from the £73 million that they paid Dortmund to bring him to Manchester just four years ago.
United need a permanent sale of Sancho
This looks set to be the first tough decision United must face this summer. With Jadon Sancho’s contract expiring next year, retaining him in any capacity simply shouldn’t be an option.
Even if United are forced to lower their asking price, they would at least relieve themselves of his hefty £250,000-a-week wages and potentially recoup close to £25 million when you combine the transfer fee and the £5 million fine that Chelsea paid to not keep him.

Although it initially appeared as if United had little to no leverage in this deal, the growing interest in Sancho from Juventus, among other clubs, will allow United to hold firm on their price tag, giving Rúben Amorim the funds he needs for the summer.
Ultimately, they need to take what they can get from their want-away players, such as Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Antony, but growing interest in these stars will help bump up their price tags.
