Manchester United may have found a clever way to bring Danish striker Rasmus Højlund to the club this summer.

Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen to finally have a central attacker leading his line.

United relied heavily on goals from Marcus Rashford last season, with a large portion of the remaining goals coming from impact substitutes such as Alejandro Garnacho or the midfield area.

Multiple reports in the last six weeks have explained that United are looking at Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund as the main option up front, after interest in Harry Kane was ended.

With Atalanta reportedly quoting Højlund at £86 million, Steve Bates has claimed that Ten Hag will sanction a loan move that will see Amad Diallo join the Italian club for one year as part of a deal for Højlund.

Amad’s growth in the last season has been fantastic, being voted Sunderland Young Player of the Season during his season-long loan at the Championship club last season.

Amad, of course, was at Atalanta before he joined Manchester United in 2021, so will be able to play in a top five European league for an environment he’s comfortable with.

United embark on their pre-season tour on 12 July, against Leeds United in Oslo.
