Erik ten Hag reveals what he told Man United fans after Leicester City win
Erik ten Hag is working wonders at Manchester United and has built a strong connection with the fans at Old Trafford.
The team’s latest victory at the Theatre of Dreams saw The Reds emerge victorious with goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho making a comfortable 3-0 win.
As the players went down the tunnel after the full-time whistle, Ten Hag was appreciative of the supporters, pointing towards the Stretford End, signifying their importance for the team.
The manager revealed in his post-match press conference what he was saying to the fans in that moment.
“I said come Thursday,” Ten Hag told reporters. “It’s a big game, make sure you are there and we beat Barcelona together.”
“I thank the fans for their trust in me,” Ten Hag added. “I feel committed with this club, I love to be here but it’s not in my influence.
“What I can influence is the performance of this team and I will give everything to perform as good as possible and to bring them hop[efully across limits.
“We are committed with this club and it’s our club, it’s in our heart. But it’s not our job, we are focusing on football and performing, from our team, that is what the players and staff around have to do.”
Ten Hag’s relationship with the fans has helped to build Old Trafford into a fortress.
United have lost just twice at the stadium under the management of the Dutchman, with those two defeats coming in the first two months of the season.
One of the key players on the pitch behind this unbeaten run is Bruno Fernandes. The midfielder registered two assists on Sunday afternoon.
His leadership is so important and he leads by example, according to his boss, who says that the midfielder was the standout player against The Foxes.
“For me, today Bruno Fernandes was brilliant. Best player on the pitch,” he told club media.
