Erik ten Hag has received an update on the fitness of Rasmus Hojlund ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Reds were without the Danish striker in their Premier League win over Everton on the weekend after he suffered an injury before the international break against Luton Town.

It was originally stated that the 20-year-old would be available towards the end of November and his presence in an all-important Champions League game against Galatasaray would be a boost for Ten Hag.

However, the latest information from social media account Insider United – who have previously been ‘closely monitored’ by the club due to the accurate information on injuries they have posted – suggests that Hojlund may not be fully fit for the encounter.

It was said that Hojlund is back on the grass running, and will be monitored ahead of the game, but that starting the game may come too early for the striker.

That would suggest he will be fit enough to potentially play a role coming from the bench.

Hojlund has scored five Champions League goals so far for The Reds and is the joint-top goalscorer in the competition.

This could mean that Anthony Martial starts another game up front after scoring against Everton on the weekend.

The Frenchman also won the penalty for United’s second goal of the game but it was not a classic performance from the no.9 despite the positive end product.

Marcus Rashford is also unavailable for selection after receiving a red card last time out in the European competition.
