Erik ten Hag receives major Man United injury update for Premier League clash vs Wolves
Erik ten Hag will finally have his Manchester United squad close to full fitness when they return to Premier League action against Wolves at the start of next month.
The Reds have faced major injury issues across the campaign so far, but the likes of Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro returned to the squad last week against Tottenham Hotspur.
An FA Cup fourth-round clash against Newport County comes up next for United, but they then make their return to league action with a game against Wolves on February 1.
Ten Hag could be looking at as close to a full-strength side as he’s had all season for that clash, with two more players set to be back in the squad.
Luke Shaw just missed out on playing against Spurs on the morning of the game and is expected to be back available for the upcoming fixtures.
Meanwhile, summer signing Mason Mount is also reportedly set to be back involved for the clash against Wolves following an extended period out of the team through injury.
A social media account named ‘Insider United’ has been providing accurate information on injuries at the club throughout this season, so much so that his account was previously banned after reports emerged stating that United were following his account.
He posted several days ago stating that Mount is ‘looking good’ to return to the fold against Wolves.
The former Chelsea man signed for the club in the summer for £50 million but has started just seven games this season.
With the two England players set to return, United’s only likely absence would be Tyrell Malacia, who is still out of action following a serious knee injury.
The aforementioned account added that Malacia will still be unavailable for a while as he’s taking recovery slowly to ensure there are no further setbacks for him.
