Erik ten Hag has hinted that he may not let Scott McTominay leave this summer amid a bid for the Manchester United star.

Scott McTominay‘s 2023/24 season at Manchester United has been his most outstanding so far, as he scored 10 goals under Erik ten Hag.

Since making his debut under Jose Mourinho in 2017, McTominay has been a versatile and dependable player for every manager during his seven-year stint with the first team. However, this season is likely to be his last at Old Trafford.

In 2023, McTominay was on the brink of a £30 million move to West Ham, but the deal fell through, resulting in another year at United. Now, with INEOS needing to raise funds for new acquisitions, McTominay is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs as well as those in Europe.

Reports from Thursday claimed that United have so far received two bids for McTominay from Fulham, around £17 million and £23 million respectively, while Galatasaray are rumoured to have made a bid of around £11 million and continue to be interested in him.

Furthermore, McTominay is thought to be gathering intrigue from West Ham United, Newcastle United, and Southampton – he is seemingly one of United’s most in-demand players this summer.

However, Ten Hag has fired back, explaining that he is more than happy with McTominay in his squad, especially now that the Scottish international is playing in a more attacking role, hinting that he may choose to keep him in the team rather than leave.

“I’m so pleased with the performance from Scott McTominay and so pleased to have him in my squad for the type of person he is,” Ten Hag told the media on Thursday afternoon.

“He has such an impact on this team with his performance and team spirit. Of course, now we play him in a more advanced position, which suits him much better. He is so important in making goals for our team and I’m very pleased to work with him and have him in our squad.”

Will McTominay leave? Only time will tell. United are thought to be demanding an overall £30 million package for the 27-year-old this summer.
