Erik ten Hag ‘insiders’ reveal “pathetic’ moment that may cause his Manchester United sacking
According to a new report, those close to Erik ten Hag have revealed a “pathetic” moment that may lead to the Dutchman losing his job as Manchester United’s manager.
Erik ten Hag’s tenure as Manchester United manager is under intense pressure after the club’s third Premier League defeat in six games this season.
United currently find themselves 13th in the league, and a lacklustre home draw against FC Twente in the Europa League has only intensified the calls from fans for the Dutch manager’s departure.

The 3-0 defeat to Tottenham was a particular blow. Not only was the result at Old Trafford humiliating, but Ten Hag’s team looked disorganised, uninspired, and chaotic despite featuring eight players who have debuted under his management.
According to The Mirror, there is a particular moment against Spurs that those in Ten Hag’s inner circle that they have branded “pathetic” and are worried may eventually cost him his job.
Tottenham’s first goal, scored by Brennan Johnson, was only possible because centre-back Micky van der Ven was able to steamroll through United’s entire structure and put in a low cross for Johnson to tap in.
One member of Ten Hag’s inner circle reportedly described the defending as “pathetic,” expressing concern that a continuation of this type of play would result in the Dutchman’s sacking.
The report further explains that Ten Hag is aware that United’s next two fixtures, away against FC Porto in the Europa League and a visit to Aston Villa in the Premier League, may determine his fate.
However, on the outside, Ten Hag has been calm and composed, explaining that he is not worried about losing his job as he knows the current problems can be fixed.
“I’m not thinking about it; I’m not anxious,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports when asked if he thinks he will still be in his job should the next two games go badly.
“We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership.
“We made this agreement, and we were all behind it. We know the strategy [is to bring in] young players in a transition period.
“They also know in May, in all my last six seasons, there were always trophies, and that is what we are aiming for.”
