Erik ten Hag has reportedly made a U-turn on the transfer decision of Victor Lindelof this summer.

Victor Lindelof was originally listed as one of seven first-XI players that Manchester United were willing to part ways with this summer.

However, the Swede performed admirably in the second half of the last campaign under Erik ten Hag, stepping up in the absence of Lisandro Martinez at left-centre back.

According to Bild via Sport Witness, Lindelof is no longer for sale after a deal was reportedly put in place for him to sign for the German club Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

The German report states that Frankfurt have been told they have ‘no chance’ of signing Victor Lindelof, despite a deal for the player was ‘already bagged’.

Fabrizio Romano backed up this report by adding the Ten Hag’s stance on the defender has never changed and that he is ‘untouchable’ – which is the message that was sent to Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan in January.

They had previously shown interest in Lindelof during the January window and that a deal was already in place to sign the player – but Erik ten Hag has since placed a veto on the deal.

After Lindelof’s fantastic performances across the second half of the season coupled with the potential sale of Harry Maguire, it is now looking increasingly likely that the Swedish national team captain will stay at Old Trafford in the near future.

Lindelof signed a new 5-year contract with United back in 2019 that runs until June 2024, and the club have the option to extend this by a further year should they choose to do so.
