Erik ten Hag addresses Jadon Sancho squad omission amid Juventus transfer rumours
Erik ten Hag has addressed why Jadon Sancho has been omitted from Manchester United’s Premier League squad to face Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
Following a 1-0 win over Fulham, where Joshua Zirkzee marked his debut with a decisive goal at Old Trafford, Manchester United are now looking ahead to their match against Brighton.
Brighton are currently at the top of the Premier League after a commanding 3-0 victory over Everton on the opening day. Erik ten Hag‘s side will meet them in their first home fixture of the season.

In the game against Fulham, new signings Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui all made their debuts and impressed the crowd with their performances.
Speaking ahead of the tie, Ten Hag was asked why Jadon Sancho had once again been omitted from the matchday squad, just like against Fulham last week.
“He’s here, but I had a choice to make,” Ten Hag told TNT Sports when asked if the 24-year-old was going to leave this summer.
“We had some [injury] issues, so we need a full squad, and he’s one of them, and he has to compete for his position.
“But also, from game to game, we will have a look, and we need in the squad every position double, because it’s going to be a long season.”
Sancho has been linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks. The Serie A club is reportedly keen on bringing the player in on a season-long loan with an option or obligation to buy.
It has been reported that United would only accept such a proposal if the financials behind the transfer make sense from their perspective. The transfer window closes at 11 pm BST on Thursday, 30 August.
