Casemiro was sent off in Manchester United’s tight 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

United seemed to be in cruise control midway through the second half after Marcus Rashford scored to double the lead that Bruno Fernandes gave The Reds from the penalty spot in the opening minutes of the first half.

That was, however, until a brawl happened after Antony was pushed off the pitch by a Crystal Palace player.

Referee Andre Marriner was advised to go to the monitor to look at a possible red card. Casemiro was seen holding Will Hughes by the neck.

Despite the Brazilian looking like he was trying to move the opposition midfielder out of the way with minimal force, the hands were still there and he was rightly dismissed.

However, United fans are furious that the same treatment was not given to Jordan Ayew, who was seen doing much worse on the replays.

The Palace winger was seen forcefully pushing Fred in the neck with his right hand before looking like he gives him a punch in the throat afterwards.

He was not sent down the tunnel and came off the pitch minutes later through a substitution.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: “Casemiro crossed the line; you saw that. However, I’m unhappy with the inconsistent refereeing; not only this game but also in Palace. They elbowed Martinez and last week with Eriksen.

“A lot of other players crossed the line, including some Crystal Palace players. VAR didn’t intervene with them.”

He added when speaking to club media: “I’ve seen the incident after the player of Crystal Palace takes a big risk to bring an injury to Antony. Then emotions get high with several players but they [only] pick one player out.”

The fans felt the same feelings at their manager, especially on the Ayew decision.

“They only saw Casemiro, shocking,” one comment read.

“That’s even worse than Casemiro’s, so much force in that strangle,” another fan wrote.

A third added: “Why even have cameras if they’re just going to miss everything?”

The Brazilian midfielder will miss United’s next three Premier League games.
