Erik ten Hag confirms Man United squad to face Real Betis in second leg of Europa League clash
Erik ten Hag has named a 21-man squad to face Real Betis in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash.
The Reds are aiming to progress into the last eight after a comfortable 4-1 win against the Spanish opposition in the first leg at Old Trafford last week.
Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst were on the scoresheet for United after they bounced back from their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
However, Brazilian winger Antony will not be travelling for this encounter after he missed training due to illness. Nathan Bishop, Zidane Iqbal, Kobbie Mainoo and Anthony Martial are not in the squad either.
Alejandro Garnacho is also missing after he suffered an ankle injury during United’s latest Premier League fixture against Southampton. He will be out of action for a number of weeks.
However, Ten Hag’s midfield is boosted by the return of Marcel Sabitzer, who has missed out in the last two fixtures. Victor Lindelof also returns from illness.
Despite a four-game domestic ban following his red card against Southampton, Casemiro is available for this European clash and will likely start the match.
The full United squad for their third trip to Spain so far this season can be read below:
Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Tom Heaton, Jack Butland.
Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Midfielders: Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay, Marcel Sabitzer.
Forwards: Anthony Elanga, Facundo Pellistri, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Wout Weghorst.
