Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will miss four games due to the red card he received against Southampton.

The Brazilian was sent off because of a high-stud tackle on Southampton forward Carlos Alcaraz.

Some fans and pundits thought the decision was harsh as the 31-year-old has now collected two straight red cards within his last three appearances in the Premier League for Manchester United.

The reasoning for the four-match suspension is that this is Casemiro’s second red card of the season, which means he misses another match.

The only other red card he had for the Red Devils was against Crystal Palace where he was sent off for strangling Will Hughes

However, which four games will Casemiro miss?

With the four-match ban only affecting FA competitions, United’s No.18 will be able to be selected for United’s next game on Thursday against Real Betis in the Europa League.

So, the first official match that he will miss will be at home in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup against Fulham on 19 March – many would think that United should beat Fulham anyway, but with him being a big game player, will United be able to cope?

The period between the match against Fulham and the next game, which is Newcastle United away on 2 April, there is an international break, however, Casemiro will still be unavailable to play against the Magpies.

The former Real Madrid player will also miss the two Premier League games after that which both take place at home against Brentford on 5 April and Everton, which is on 8 April.

Erik ten Hag discussed Casemiro’s red card after the fixture, explaining: “Casemiro has played over 500 games in Europe. He never had a red card. Now, in 20 games in the Premier League he has [two], so… What I think is the inconsistency, players don’t know any more what the Policy is.”

How much of an impact does this red card have on United? Only time will tell.
