Erik ten Hag sends clear message to Man United fans ahead of FA Cup final vs Man City
Erik ten Hag has sent a clear message to Manchester United supporters ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
For the second consecutive season, United and City will face off in the FA Cup final. As the newly crowned Premier League champions are the favourites going into the match.
In contrast, this season has been challenging for Erik ten Hag’s side, who finished eighth in the league table.
They have struggled in all competitions, making the FA Cup their last chance for both a trophy and European qualification.
However, the fans have constantly supported the team, particularly those at Old Trafford and attending away fixtures.
When United lost 4-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last month, the supporters were rich in voice at the end of the game while the players were apologetically standing in front of them.
Ten Hag has explained how the team will give ‘everything’ to try and pay the fans back on Saturday afternoon.
“All the problems we have had, we have suffered, but, in the same times, they have also had, over the last couple of years, tough times. And now we are, for the third time in two seasons, in a final, and we will give everything we have as a team, as individuals, to give them the cup,” he stated to club media.
“We have to pay them back and, if any fans deserve this, they are the fans of Manchester United.”
The cup final clash at Wembley kicks off at 3:00pm (UK time), with the team news emerging an hour beforehand.
