Erik ten Hag blasted for letting down “quality” Manchester United star who Rúben Amorim will love
Erik ten Hag has been blasted for letting down one Manchester United star that Rúben Amorim will love as he leads his new club.
Manchester United have sacked Erik ten Hag after a dismal season that has left the team 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League.
The Dutchman’s departure follows a string of underwhelming results, with the tipping point being a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in East London.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was named caretaker manager while the club searched for a permanent replacement, eventually landing on Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim as their new head coach.
Amorim has taken charge of training for the first time this week and is set to name his first XI when the side face Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
Ten Hag let one player down
Many have had their say on why Ten Hag’s tenure at Manchester United ultimately fell short of expectations, with some claiming that the players were not good enough for him.
However, former United striker Louis Saha has instead blasted Ten Hag for letting down his players, with Casemiro in particular a man who suffered from Ten Hag’s tactical shortcomings.
“Yes, I think so,” Saha told BetFred when asked whether he believes Casemiro is returning to his best form.
“You could see how much he was being exposed in Erik ten Hag’s system and ultimately, the tactics were wrong. Casemiro was being asked to do too much, and it’s difficult for him to do well without the right players around him.
“It doesn’t matter how many trophies he’s won, he was going to struggle in that system. I believe he was let down. I’m a big defender of him because he never complains and he’s aware of when he’s not playing well.”
Amorim will love Casemiro
Further, Saha explained that he feels Casemiro can become a “different” player under Rúben Amorim with the right tactical balance.
Further, the former French international explained that Casemiro has the quality and leadership that is needed in a United team, which Amorim will no doubt appreciate.
“With the right balance in the midfield and the right positioning, we’re going to see Casemiro playing with a different dimension. He has the right quality and leadership that this Manchester United team needs.”
