Eric Cantona hints at Man United return, making prediction about Sir Jim Ratcliffe
Eric Cantona has shared his desire to return to football at some point and believes that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are the right people to get Manchester United back at the top of the sport.
Cantona, 57, is a name fondly remembered by all Manchester United fans as the charismatic Frenchman scored 82 times in 185 appearances and added four Premier League titles and two FA Cups to his trophy cabinet whilst at the club.
The ex-United forward has stayed relatively away from football since retiring in 1997, according to Google he is now a “French actor and singer”, but he has kept close tabs on the Red Devils and likes what he sees with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

Choosing to pursue more artistic endeavours since hanging up the boots, the former No. 7 has made 30 films and has dabbled in art and poetry. The 57-year-old is set to release a music album called “Cantona Sings Eric”, and whilst promoting it in an interview with the Big Issue, the inevitable subject of his former club arose.
Cantona believes that he is spread too thin currently for a role in football and a potential return to The Reds saying: “I am involved in too many things I really love to be a manager.
“In everything I do I work hard to give 100% so that I am able to have the confidence and to enjoy. So I don’t have the time to be manager. But maybe something else…”
Reports in recent weeks suggest that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are looking at the likes of Gareth Southgate and Julian Nagelsmann as candidates to replace Erik ten Hag if performances don’t improve.
This follows a complete overhaul of staff including the hiring of Omar Berrada as CEO from Manchester City and the hunt for Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United as the new Director of Football.
The new minority owners have Cantona in their corner as he goes on to say: “For sure with Jim Ratcliffe I think we come back as the best. The way you drive the club is important. Ratcliffe, who is a fan of United since forever, is a great businessman of course, but is also very passionate about sport.”
“Cantona Sings Eric” releases on the 29th of March.
