“dynamic and not predictable” – Manchester United fans tipped for surprise player

| Last Updated:

Manchester United fans have been tipped to be surprised by Sergio Reguilón after the Tottenham fullback was brought into the fold after Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malaica’s replacement.

Erik ten Hag is currently dealing with an injury crisis at Manchester United, and with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out for several months, United brought in Sergio Reguilón into the fold during the final days of the window for left-back cover.

Reguilón is yet to step out in United colours as he remained on the bench when United lost 3-1 to Arsenal, with Diogo Dalot filling in at left-back, but the Spaniard has been tipped to surprise this season.

Former United defender Paul Parker believes that Reguilón will take Luke Shaw’s starting squad.

“I think the fans will see him as dynamic and not predictable at all,” Parker told MyBettingSites. “Of course, Luke Shaw is injured and it’s very important to have a left-footed player in that position.

“I think there is a very good chance that he could take over that spot and then Erik ten Hag can play Luke Shaw at the left centre half position.

“When Dalot played the position, Man United had no players that could go wide on the left-hand side because Rashford is right-footed as well. So, he will have a big chance of making that position his.

“I think he can be a very good signing and Man United needs a boost in that position. He should definitely start against Brighton because the fans will be fired up a bit. They would like to see something different.

“That’s why I think Erik ten Hag should start Reguilón, Amrabat and Højlund. The selection is very important in terms of getting the fans on your side. This is a big game and he needs to give the fans something to cheer about before the game.”
