Dusan Vlahovic wage demands revealed as Manchester United target ‘willing to take huge pay cut’ to force transfer

Dusan Vlahovic has revealed his wage demands as he looks to potentially find a new club this summer. The Manchester United target is ‘willing to take huge pay cut’ to force the transfer.

It is no secret that Manchester United are on the hunt for a new striker this summer, with Ruben Amorim hoping to put last season’s attacking mishaps behind him.

Having missed out on all silverware last season, whilst simultaneously finishing 15th in the Premier League, this summer signified a time for change, with many incomings expected.

United’s Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee only mustered seven goals out of their side’s 44 in the league last campaign, leaving a lot to be desired.

Despite seeking a striker since the start of the window, Amorim’s side haven’t made any concrete moves as of yet, due to their targets growing increasingly unviable. This being said, however, news surrounding Dusan Vlahovic could be music to United fan’s ears.

Vlahovic wage demands revealed

Juventus striker Vlahovic currently earns £315,000 a week in Turin, according to GiveMeSport, via TeamTalk, “but is willing to take a huge pay cut” this summer to facilitate a move away from his club.

The Serbian striker has a contract that expires in June 2026, and hasn’t been able to reach an agreement with his side over an extension, forcing Juventus into a position where they would like to sell their forward this summer.

Juventus’ 25-year-old has informed clubs that he would be willing to accept around £200,000 per week, and he is particularly keen on a move to United.

This same report also suggests that Vlahovic and Juve could mutually agree to terminate his contract a year early, allowing United to therefore sign him for less than his rumoured £26m price tag, and potentially on a free transfer.

Deja vu for United?

The more time that passes in this window, the more appealing an offer this appears to United, with their striker target options whittling down as the weeks pass.

Vlahovic has scored 58 and assisted 14 in his 145 games for Juventus so far. This slightly underwhelming record has come as a surprise to many due to the Serbian’s fine form for his previous side Fiorentina.

Although a free transfer for the 6ft 3in striker may end up seeming too good to pass up on, given the alternative options, it may not be a wise move for United given their recent luck regarding Serie A strikers.

It will be interesting to see how this story develops in the weeks to come, as United’s hunt for a striker starts to ramp up.
