Dean Henderson names Man United star as ‘most underrated player’ and fans will agree
Dean Henderson has named one Manchester United star as the ‘most underrated player’, and fans will agree with him.
Henderson, 27, left United last summer after spending 12 years at the club. He joined Crystal Palace after manager Erik ten Hag decided to buy André Onana as a new no.1.
The shot-stopper impressed in the latter stages of the 2023/24 campaign and secured a place in England’s squad for Euro 2024.
After being asked about the most underrated player he’s played against, Henderson named former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
However, when told to choose a less established name, the goalkeeper was quick to name United winger Amad Diallo.
He told Lions’ Den: “Look out for Amad Diallo. Obviously, he’s broken onto the season this season, but he’s going to be top, top. Top, top…”
Henderson worked closely with Amad behind the scenes at Carrington and clearly believes he has the ability to reach the very highest level.
He started between the sticks for the Reds in their Europa League clash against AC Milan in 2021, where Amad scored his first goal for the club.
It was a tremendous improvised header that made many supporters excited about his talent, but for various reasons, he did not emerge as a first-team regular.
However, as Henderson mentioned, the 21-year-old made a positive impression at the back end of last season, and all United fans are desperate to see him become a regular feature for Ten Hag’s side next term.
