Former Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson sent a controversial message about an INEOS favourite ahead of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Henderson, 27, departed United after 12 years with the club in the summer of 2023. He joined Crystal Palace on a permanent transfer worth around £15 million.

The academy graduate seemed destined to take the gloves from David de Gea at one point under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, but it simply never worked out for him.

Now, Henderson has broken into the Palace team and is part of an exciting squad which Oliver Glasner inherited after taking over from Roy Hodgson.

He plays alongside the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise – the latter is widely known to be one of INEOS‘ main transfer targets at Old Trafford.

Henderson’s controversial message about INEOS target

Henderson played with some excellent players at United, including the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, but the goalkeeper interestingly snubbed both when discussing his best teammates.

Speaking to South London Press back in January, Henderson was singing the praises of Olise and Eze, claiming that the pair were the best players he has played with, something that could cause controversy among United supporters.

“They are top, top players, and it’s great to see. I’m with them every day, so I sort of know them well. It’s good going up against them in training, and they enjoy shooting at us as well,” the goalkeeper said.

“But these boys will get better and better. They’ve only just come back from injury as well, and you’ve got to remember that it takes a run of games to get back up to that level.

“They can be as good as they want to be. The pair of them are probably the best two players I’ve actually played with, which is strange.”

Olise’s quality is undeniable

While some may find Henderson’s comments slightly controversial or perhaps bitter, considering the way his United career ended, one thing is clear: Olise has undeniable quality.

INEOS will be hoping to add the winger to the ranks at United this summer, although a deal will not be completely straightforward despite reports about a release clause.

There have been some injury concerns in recent months, but that seemed mostly to be mismanagement when he was returning to full fitness.

Olise is a Premier League-proven talent who seems destined for a move to a big club sooner or later, and United will be hoping to convince him.
