The latest on all of Manchester United’s injury news as Rúben Amorim prepares to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United squad are due to return to Premier League action as they look to climb up from 13th in the domestic table.

Their most recent fixture saw the club knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the quarter-final stage during a thrilling 4-3 fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, but the side will still gain confidence following an overall good performance.

In the league, United are coming off the back of a brilliant 2-1 win away from home against arch-rivals Manchester city, with Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo working miracles in the final minutes to turn the tie on its head.

They will next face Bournemouth as they return to Old Trafford, with Amorim’s side sitting six points behind Nottingham Forest, who occupy the lowest of the Champions League qualification spots.

United’s latest team news sees a fresh blow

United were dealt a fresh blow on Thursday evening as Swedish defender Victor Lindelöf had to come off just before half-time, being replaced by Jonny Evans as the 30-year-old looked visibly upset as he headed straight for the changing room.

“I think he has something that we have to assess to say specifically what he has, but it’s tough to lose a player,” the head coach told club media when asked about Lindelöf’s issue.

Fellow defender Matthijs de Ligt also missed the tie due to illness, but he is not expected to be out for any length of time and may make a return to the starting XI on Sunday afternoon.

Mason Mount is still injured after being replaced against Manchester City after just 13 minutes, with Amorim explaining that the 25-year-old will miss ‘several weeks’ of action through injury.

Luke Shaw is not expected back until the end of the month after he suffered yet another setback in training at the beginning of December.

Marcus Rashford has not been included in the side’s last two squads due to selection, while Alejandro Garnacho returned in midweek after missing out on the win over Manchester City.

Beyond this, there are no other injury issues at the club, with Amorim having a mostly fit squad to select from.
