David Moyes has completely agreed with Ruben Amorim about one advantage Manchester United have ahead of their game against Everton.
With the November international break wrapped up, Ruben Amorim has shifted back to getting Manchester United ready for Monday night’s match against Everton.
Though United’s season began unevenly, they’ve gathered momentum with a five-game unbeaten stretch and just one loss in their last seven.
A victory in this game would see the Reds close in on the top four and be within two points of Chelsea in second-place.
Everton sit 13th and have recorded two wins, two defeats, and a draw across their previous five fixtures. Their 2–0 reverse against Fulham before the break hasn’t greatly affected morale, and David Moyes’ men head to Old Trafford with confidence intact.
Moyes agrees with Amorim about United’s advantage vs Everton
Amorim had some difficulties at home beforehand but his team are starting to relish playing in front of the Old Trafford support.
It is something that has always given United a significant advantage at home and the Portuguese boss is excited to be back at the Theatre of Dreams after two away games before the international break.
“That is the best thing, because in the recent past it was hard to play at home,” Amorim said to club media. “But nowadays you miss playing at home, that is a feeling we should have in our club. I’m really excited to be back playing at home and the players also. We need to continue winning at home.”
This is an advantage that ex-United boss and current Everton manager Moyes will know about, even if his time at Old Trafford did not last a full year.
“I’m looking forward to going back,” Moyes said when asked about heading to Old Trafford during his pre-match press conference.
“I’m always treated well. I think Manchester United have got an incredible support inside the stadium. They get behind their managers and players.”
Moyes will make things difficult for United
Moyes’ time at Old Trafford was short and disappointing but almost every supporter recognises the difficult role he had when following Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Scotsman is one of the classiest managers in the Premier League and will set his team up to be difficult to beat.
United have enjoyed success in games where they have not had the most of possession but they will likely have to play a different way to secure three points against the Toffees.
But as Moyes and Amorim both know, the Old Trafford crowd could help make the difference if the game remains tight heading into the final stages.
