David Beckham has picked an incredible 5-a-side team of players he played with during his career but only one Manchester United player made the cut.

Beckham, 49, had an incredible footballing career, not only at Manchester United where he won the Treble and many other trophies under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The English icon also played for some of the greatest clubs abroad, with stints at Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Real Madrid while also playing in the MLS with LA Galaxy.

Over his career, Beckham was able to play with some of the world’s greatest players and he has chosen five of those to make a 5-a-side team.

During an interview with former teammate and United legend Rio Ferdinand, the 49-year-old was asked to choose five of his very best teammates.

Beckham’s team can be seen below, with Roberto Carlos and Paolo Maldini in defence, Zinedine Zidane and Roy Keane in midfield, and the original Ronaldo leading the line.

Beckham on Roy Keane

Roy Keane was the only former United teammate who made Beckham’s team, a decision that could confuse some younger supporters but none who were able to watch the former captain in action.

“You need a leader and you need someone that’s going to actually tackle and fight and be the player that he is, so I’m gonna have to say Keaney,” Beckham explained.

“He took no day off, and I don’t mean in the physical sense of having a day off. I mean, every single day that he stepped on that training pitch, he wanted to win, whether it was the keep-ball game or the header game.

“He inspired us every single day because he came in with that mentality and we all knew that that’s what we have to cope with, that’s the level we have to reach.

“That’s why Keaney was who he was because he was a winner and he was hungry and he always wanted to win.”
